Monique Jacqueline Houtteman:

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Monique Houtteman (nee Torrez) on October 4 2016 at 7:35am.

After a long, arduous battle with cancer, she is now at peace and without pain. With the elegance, dignity and grace that she naturally exuded, she has bravely joined her loved ones of the past. Monique is survived by her husband and true love of 60 years, Emile J. Houtteman, her beloved children Myriam Lampear (Keith), Philippe (Virginia), Daniel (Caroline McGuire), Noel (Barry Gula), Nathalie Griffore (Tom), Chantal (Philippe Carreau), her 8 beloved grandchildren whom she loved and adored; Jacqueline and Michael Houtteman, Solange and Bryce Webster, Gabriel, Simone, Daniel Griffore, Gaspard Carreau-Houtteman and her sisters Mauricette Recker, Michelle Sinclair and Marcelle Noel. Born in La BasseƩ, France she immigrated with her parents and two sisters to Canada, starting roots in London, Ontario. After meeting and Marrying Emile, they moved and settled to Windsor, Ontario to live and raise their family, keeping this their home town. The strong out pouring of help, love and support from family, friends and neighbours helped keep our family together and focused throughout our heart wrenching and difficult times. Our family also gives infinite gratitude and respect to the staff and volunteers of the Hospice of Windsor for their help, compassion, empathy and understanding and in making the final month of Monique's life comfortable and restful. A celebration and memorial of her life will be with family and close friends only, held on Friday, October 7, 2016 beginning at 1 pm at Victoria Greenlawn Funeral Home (1525 Hwy 3. Oldcastle , 519-969-3939). We request in lieu of flowers to please make a donation to The Hospice of Windsor in care of the Houtteman family.
