Peacefully passed away with family by her side on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 87 years. Beloved wife and dear friend of 65 years to Ralph. Loving mother of Gary Smith (Geraldine) and Cynthia Hawthorne. Treasured grand-mother of Tara Hawthorne (Daniel), Sterling Smith (Dawn), Darren Hawthorne (Heidi), Sean Hawthorne (Kasey) and Heather Whelan (Chris). Cherished great grand-mother of Stephen, Cassandra (2014), Karl, Austin, Greenlee, Logan, Kaylee, Maddie, Peyton, Zoey, McKenna, Paisley, Owen, Landon, Declan, Rory, Bailey and Hattie. Resting at the Victoria Greenlawn Funeral Home (1525 Hwy. # 3, Oldcastle, Ont. 519-969-3939) from 10:00 am until time of service in the chapel at 11:00 am on Saturday November 26, 2016. Interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
