PARSONS, Margaret Elizabeth
(nee Budd)
It is with sad hearts we say goodbye to our beloved and cherished Mother on October 13th, 2016. She left us peacefully while surrounded by her family. Elizabeth was born on December 10th to Margaret and Luther Budd in Toronto, 1933. Elizabeth was cherished by her devoted husband, Don Parsons, who will miss her with all his heart. They shared 61 glorious years of marriage. Loving mother and mother-in-law to Janet and Doug MacDonell (Texas), Beth and Bill Cole (Ottawa), Susan and Chuck Proffitt (Michigan) and Don and Denise Parsons (Amherstburg). She goes to join her beloved son Buddy Parsons who sadly left her side on Sept 19th, 1963 to Childhood Leukemia. She will be sadly missed by her treasured grandchildren, Andrew, Steven, Emily and Stewart MacDonell, Christopher and Alex Cole, William, Ben and Jonathon Strong, JD, Jessica, Craig and Heather Parsons and Brook Digiovanni. Elizabeth was a proud great-grandmother to 5 and counting. She is survived by her sister Janet Searle and is predeceased by her older sister Patricia Appleyard. Elizabeth will be fondly remembered by her dearly loved brothers and sisters in-law; Tom and Donna Parsons and Wayne and Jan Parsons along with many loving family friends and neighbours. Elizabeth's career as a Teacher spanned 25 years with the Windsor Board of Education and she was a forerunner in the field of Special Education. Her classrooms were always very creative and lively and her commitment to her students’ development was passionate. The family wishes to thank the caregivers from Southgate Seniors Residence, Royal Oak LTC and Leamington District Hospital. The dedication and devotion of the girls from Amy’s Helping Hands were so greatly appreciated by Elizabeth's family. Their assistance in difficult times will never be forgotten. Visitation will take place on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Victoria Greenlawn Funeral Home (1525 Hwy #3, 519-969-3939) from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
